This session provides an overview of the pharmacology and indications for buprenorphine, including case-based examples of dosing for opioid use disorder and chronic pain. Management of acute pain in patients with OUD on buprenorphine will also be discussed. Participants will also be updated on regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  1. Describe pharmacology of buprenorphine.
  2. Describe change in regulations for prescribing buprenorphine in the U.S.
  3. Prescribe buprenorphine for both OUD and chronic pain.
